A ticket to see the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team may be the most difficult ticket in college sports. It is generally understood that all of the Kentucky home basketball game season tickets are sold out, but that is not the case. The balance left after the season ticket renewal deadline in September determines how many more will be issued. Rupp Arena, the facility used for all University of Kentucky basketball home games, has a seating capacity of approximately 24,000 people.

Non-renewed season tickets are issued from a lottery that is held in the fall. The only tickets that are available on a one game basis is not known until the day of the game and is determined by how many faculty and student tickets are picked up. The best time to ensure that tickets will be available is during the Christmas break while students are away from school.
